Judging at The Great New Zealand Sausage Competition

The Great New Zealand Sausage Competition judging is underway. I spent two days in Auckland judging the gourmet poultry sausage section, along with heat and eat – saveloys, frankfurters and cheerios.
Number 47 in the Gourmet Poultry Section
I enjoyed the discussion around the relative merits of respective sausages. There were many outstanding entries. All sausages are judged blind, so we do not know the butcher who created them.
All the judging panels have a butcher who judges the sausage on technical merit
I look forward to seeing the results when the awards are announced in late October.
