Westmere Butchery does it again! – Supreme Award Devro Great NZ Sausage Competition
Not content with 2018’s Supreme Award, Dave Rossiter and crew from Westmere Butchery have done it again! The Supreme Winner of Devro Great New Zealand Sausage Competition was Westmere Butchery’s chicken, leek and bacon sausage.
Westmere Butchery is a great kiwi butcher. You can find a wide range of quality sausages in the shop. They have won numerous awards over the years. My favourite sausage from the shop is the Italian Banderia.
I helped judge the traditional category at the Devro Great NZ Sausage Competition. There were over seventy entries in the traditional category, and two gold medals were awarded. Avon Butchery in Glen Innes, won with their beef, garden herb and garlic. Raeward Fresh from Richmond also won a gold with their pork, fresh apple and fennel.
The quality and range of sausages continues to improve as butchers from around New Zealand seek to nab an elusive medal at this highly competitive sausage awards.
