Peking Maximus – L’Authenique
On the label it states – “Summer BBQ Series, our award winning Peking Maximus. Two hundred and seventy grams of sausage perfection with free range NZ pork shoulder and Hallertau Maximus IPA.”
The flavours of Hallertau Maximus IPA are blended with those of China to create the barbecue snarler Peking Maximus. A small petite sausage this has complexity on the palate. There are hints of chilli and honey, which is combined with an acidity from soy and vinegar that is the dominant after taste. There are elements of sweet and sour, with a little bit of spice, all combined in a casing to make a delectable snarler.
The boys and myself enjoyed these sausages and thought that this was another example of great sausage making from L’Authenique. I am sure over the next few months I will review the full range of sausages they have to offer – they have gotten off to such a great start.
So if you are heading to a barbie over the summer I would recommend that you consider the Peking Maximus as a great snarler to take to the barbecue.
Cost per packet: $9.95.

Did you purchase these sausages from Moore Wilson??
Don Stevens
L’Authentique sausages can be purchased from Moore Wilson’s or Thorndon New World. You should try some, I thought the next sausages I will buy will be the Angus Beef.
